Prachi believes in meeting each person where they are in their life with warmth, empathy and a judgement free therapeutic space. She believes that each person’s identity is developed through a combination of their inner thoughts and their interaction with the world. Just as the relationship with the inner thoughts changes the interaction with the world changes too. Hence she believes in a collaborative approach between the therapist and the client to explore any issues that may be preventing them from living the life that they want.
She customizes her care to fit each client’s needs, goals and strengths, by using an integrative and holistic approach. She uses techniques from various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-centered therapy, and Multicultural therapy and Mindfulness.
Prachi is currently in the process of obtaining her MA in Mental Health Counseling from NYU and an advanced certificate in LGBT Health, Education and Social Services. She has also worked for two years as a Residential Counselor at a psychiatric hospital and group home in Boston; helping them achieve their goals and develop coping skills.
