A client should first and foremost be heard by their therapist for therapy to be a productive process. Eion’s goal as a therapist is to be attentive, patient, and trustworthy. Utilizing the knowledge he has acquired in individual therapy, group therapy and goal-oriented planning, Eion will support the client to both explore their inner self and in turn help them to use that inward analysis to examine their reason for seeking therapy.
From a young age, Eion engaged in mature conversations with his mother regarding Autism and mental health due to his brother being on the Autism spectrum. This inspired his desire to help people who are experiencing difficulties related to mental illness or difficult life phases in general, thus leading him to pursue a career in the field of Psychology.
Eion’s experience includes shadowing two psychologists at a developmental center where he was involved in both individual and group therapy focused on topics such as abuse, anger management and addiction. He also participated in the process of developing behavior plans. Eion has worked with New York inner city youth who were college bound, specifically helping them develop coping skills, utilizing techniques such as role-playing activities and meditation practices.
Eion acquired a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Psychology from NYU, where he also received a Minor in Cinema Studies and a Minor in Creative Writing. He is currently in the process of obtaining his Master's from NYU in Mental Health Counseling and an advanced certificate in LGBT Health, Education, and Social Sciences, both of which will help him hone his skills as a therapist and build upon the foundation of his undergraduate education.
