Yijing Yin
As a bilingual therapist fluent in both Mandarin and English, I am passionate about helping individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner strengths. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.

My approach is integrative and tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Together, we will explore patterns of thinking and behavior, develop greater emotional awareness, build effective coping strategies, and work toward creating a more fulfilling and authentic life. As a music therapist with more than six years of experience working with diverse populations, I also recognize that sometimes our emotions are easier to express through music than words. For clients who are interested, music can become a meaningful part of the therapeutic process through lyric analysis, songwriting, guided music experiences, and relaxation techniques. These approaches can support self-awareness, emotional expression, stress reduction, and overall well-being, offering another way to explore and connect with what matters most to you.

I received my Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music Writing & Production at Berklee College of Music and my Master of Music Therapy from Temple University. I also achieved the Neurological Music Therapy Fellowship at University of Toronto’s International Neurologic Music Therapy Training Institute, and I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at Columbia University. I am honored to support clients on their journeys toward healing, growth, and self-discovery, and I look forward to working with you.
