Naomi Ruiz Coffat, MS, RMHC - I
You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, carrying the effects of trauma, struggling in your relationships, or wondering why certain patterns continue to repeat in your life. Therapy offers a space to slow down, feel heard, and better understand yourself without judgment. My passion for becoming a therapist grew from a lifelong curiosity about people and a genuine desire to help others. Growing up in a Hispanic culture where supporting one another was deeply valued, I also saw how mental health was often misunderstood or overlooked. Those experiences inspired me to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and reminded that emotional well-being is just as important as physical health.I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Barry University and am currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern (RMHCI). I am especially drawn to supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish (Hablo español). For many clients, being able to express emotions, talk about family relationships, or describe painful experiences in the language that feels most natural can make therapy feel more comfortable, authentic, and connected.

My approach is tailored to each client's needs and draws primarily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) while incorporating psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and emotionally focused perspectives when helpful. Together, we explore how thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and past experiences shape the way you experience the present while building practical skills that support lasting change. I also recognize that healing often extends beyond the therapy room. When appropriate, I help clients connect with community resources, strengthen their support systems, and navigate difficult life circumstances with compassion, and practical guidance.
