Hi, I’m Léa (pronounced like Leia) and I am currently studying Mental Health Counseling at NYU. I offer my services in English and French, and have a conversational knowledge of Spanish and Bulgarian.
Oftentimes, we get stuck in a pattern, relationship, or self-image that is no longer working for us, but don’t know how to get out of it. Other times, we just need someone to help us understand or cope with our pain. Whatever your reason for coming to therapy is, I hope to create a relationship where you feel comfortable but challenged enough to explore things that may be uncomfortable, scary, or unknown without a filter. The goal of therapy isn’t just to find answers, but to face the questions we may not even know existed.
When working with individuals, couples, and families, I am especially passionate about exploring how identity, relationships, and difficult life experiences shape our behaviors and how we view the world. Having grown up across several different countries and cultures, I have a unique understanding of navigating life transitions, relationship changes, cultural shocks, and self-esteem challenges. I have also previously worked with people facing a significant trauma and instability including domestic violence, housing insecurity, incarceration, grief, and other high-stress life circumstances.
Given my diverse personal and professional experience, I have no set formula and adapt my approaches to fit your evolving needs. I naturally work from a strengths-based, relational perspective with a mix of CBT and Psychodynamic Therapy, and of course, a little bit of humor. However, I welcome feedback from clients about what is or isn’t landing and create a space where that feels possible for you. I look forward to meeting you!
