As a mental health counselor, I believe that our stories and accumulated wisdom create the underlying skills to connect deeply with not only each other, but also ourselves.
Through my own experiences with major health challenges, as well as my work as a countrywide teacher and public speaker, I have come to deeply value resiliency, meaning-making, and the courage it takes to stay present during uncertain seasons of life. I support clients who may be navigating anxiety, depression, identity shifts, medical stress, burnout, or major transitions, by helping them reconnect with their values and build a more grounded relationship with themselves.
As such, my clinical approach is rooted in mindfulness-based exercises, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), as well as existentialism philosophies. In combining both the science and art of counseling, my goal is to ultimately provide the most effective individualized care possible.
With that said, my theoretical framework is intended to be sharpened with practical experience. Drawing from my own journey of becoming a top athlete in the world has made me acutely aware of the need for inner balance and self-compassion to achieve success as well as solace. Therefore, I believe that therapy should be a space for challenging personal growth along with a place to recognize your strengths.
In parallel to working as an advanced clinical resident at The Soho Center, I am pursuing my Master’s Degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. It is essential that therapy embodies the strengths of the human spirit, empathy and bravery. Thus, our sessions will provide the space to share, learn, teach, and connect with humility as well as curiosity.
