Derya Sari
Meaningful change starts with self-acceptance. I value building genuine connections and creating a safe, supportive space to explore our worlds and reflect on our individual experiences. My work focuses on helping individuals build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with their unique selves.

I integrate a blended approach to therapy, utilizing person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based practices, along with creative and experiential techniques to help clients navigate life’s challenges, build adaptive coping skills, and reinforce greater clarity and awareness through confidence, self-compassion, and patience. Therapy is an opportunity to pause and begin again, each time with a deeper understanding of oneself as an ongoing journey.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CUNY Queens College and my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School. I’m a member of the Association for Creativity in Counseling and value the role of creative approaches by fostering self-expression, emotional connection, and meaningful growth. I am also fluent in Turkish and warmly welcome clients seeking therapy in either English or Turkish.
