Sharif Williams

My goal is to help you become more aware of your emotions and the ways in which you think about concerns and problems that impact your daily life. I believe that personal insight and self-awareness are essential for long lasting change. My role as a therapist is to create a brave and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions and past experiences. I employ a cognitive psychodynamic approach helping clients to explore how unconscious processes and early life experiences influence current cognitive patterns of thought and behavior. This leads to a deeper understanding of self and assists with developing healthier ways of thinking and relating to others.

I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and transformation. Through processes such as guided discovery, cognitive restructuring, and exploration of defense mechanisms we can tap into those inner resources which fuel and promote growth.
