CONFIDENTIAL AND AFFORDABLE… CALL US FOR AN APPOINTMENT. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

Alexander Badillo, J.D.,LMHC

Alex’s philosophy to mental health revolves around the idea that we all possess the answers to our questions, but often require assistance in uncovering and accepting them. Via use of a warm and empathic approach, Alex works together with clients to disentangle and clarify their thoughts and to establish goals for a fuller, more meaningful life. This process may be both challenging and invigorating, requiring the client to embark on a journey of self-discovery in areas rarely explored. Alex lives by the notion that the better that we understand ourselves, the better that we understand the world around us. In turn, that understanding helps us shape our world in furtherance of our goals.

Alex believes that the strongest foundation for healing rests in the relationship between client and counselor. A natural communicator at heart, he has a degree in communication from Seton Hall University where he also minored in French. He went on to study law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School Law, where he earned his juris doctor, then practiced his craft in a variety of settings and states. Yet, he felt unfulfilled by the reality that he was unable to do what he loves most: helping people. Through counseling, he is able to directly engage in conflict resolution rather than conflict creation. Alex completed his Masters in Mental Health and Wellness at New York University.

Alex’s professional acumen renders him perfectly suited for professionals dealing with high-stress environments. Having worked in several similar backdrops himself, he is intimately aware of the unique stressors, conditions and challenges these individuals face on a daily basis. Yet, his unique style and approach make him well-suited for people from all walks of life. Alex provides counseling for a host of issues, including: substance use, marriage and relationships (including couples counseling), anxiety, depression, workplace difficulties, perfectionism, multiculturalism, LGBTQ+ life and trauma, to name a few. Alex’s rich background has taken to nearly all corners of the globe and imbued in him a sense of respect and interest for all cultures. Additionally, he is fully fluent and capable of providing his services in Spanish.
