You are the expert on your own life. In practice, that means you lead the pace, and the difficult things unfold on your terms, in your time. So much of life asks us to perform, to please, to push through. This space asks something different of you: to feel what you feel, to say what isn't working, to be exactly as you are.
People often come to me to understand their own patterns more clearly, to heal from anxiety or trauma, to build relationships that feel genuine, to find their voice after years of silencing it, or simply to feel at home in themselves again. I also work with new moms, creatives, PhD students managing academic stress, and people moving through life transitions — those who feel lost and are trying to reconnect with themselves, and those moving through grief after losing someone or something dear to them. As an immigrant who has lived life between two cultures myself, I have a particular closeness to the experience of in-between, and I’m glad to walk that road with others who know it too.
My approach is holistic and body-based, working with not only what you think, but also what your body has been carrying. I draw on somatic experiencing, polyvagal-informed practice, and EMDR, which uses guided eye movements to help the brain reprocess distressing memories. For relationship work, I use the Gottman method along with PACT, an approach that looks at how early attachment shapes the patterns we bring into our relationships.
My work as a therapist began in 2007 in Türkiye, and after moving to New York in 2014, I continued seeing those clients online while gradually building my coaching practice. My background includes a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's in social psychology, and I'm currently completing a second master's in clinical mental health counseling at St. Bonaventure University, where I'm a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the counseling honor society. Sessions are available in Turkish and English, both in person and online.
