Prarthita Jain

Each individual has a unique narrative, experiences and worldview. As a result, two different people may have a completely different outlook to a common experience. In her approach to therapeutic work, Prarthita aspires to explore the intersectionality of various identities that an individual holds. Her approach to therapy includes identifying and integrating parts of the individual and their experiences to foster self-awareness, practical solutions and advance personal growth.

During your sessions together, Prarthita aims to approach her clients in a collaborative manner and provide them the tools and space they need to heal, learn and grow. She believes in an integrated approach to therapy as there is no “one size fits all” solution and draws from psychodynamic as well as behavioral approaches.

Prarthita obtained a Bachelors’ degree in Applied Psychology from Amity University in India. She trained at in-patient facilities and out-patient clinics which catered to a large population of underprivileged people from various religious and socio-economic backgrounds. Prarthita moved to New York to get a Masters degree in Mental Health and Counseling from New York University during which she worked with young adults and adults at Kingsborough Community College. The diversity of working at a community college campus helped Prarthita polish her skills working with the culturally diverse and intersectional population of New York.
