Natasha Irani, MHC-LP

While living in a fast-paced and connected world, many of us often find ourselves feeling alone, disconnected, stuck, lost, overwhelmed, which affects our overall well being. As humans, we tend to ignore the mental strain the stresses of our everyday lives are putting us through. I understand how vital it is to feel heard and aim to provide a space where my clients feel truly listened to and validated in their experiences. I believe in creating a safe environment where our therapeutic relationship is characterized by warmth, compassion, acceptance and authenticity to foster growth and healing. In our work together, I will accompany you on the journey of processing the emotions and experiences that may seem unbearable and the ones that are joyous and transformational. Through collaboration and trust, I will help you enable greater compassion for yourself, as well as your experiences, learn ways to cope with the impact of your history and identify the repetitive patterns that are holding you back from reaching your full potential. Guided by a holistic approach to treatment, I utilize different modalities mainly psychodynamic, emotion focused, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness therapy, to best meet the unique needs of each of my clients. I am passionate about working around the intersectionalities of one╩╝s multiple identities, including race, ethnicity, gender, religion, ability status, sexual orientation, nationality and immigration. Over the years, I have gained experience working in different settings with a diverse population including children, adolescents, adults, and families dealing with a variety of concerns like anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationships, developmental disabilities, trauma, identity and cultural issues. I have earned a M.A and ED.M Degree in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College Columbia University, New York.
