Kate Engstrom LCSW is a clinical director, licensed clinical social worker, and clinical supervisor at the Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling & Clinical Supervision in New York City. Kate works with her patients to help them reach their goals and restore their self-esteem.
Kate provides numerous services including crisis management, family issues and family reunification, adoption, primary mental health care, substance and polysubstance abuse recovery, managing transitional periods, integrated dual-diagnosis treatment, anxiety, communication skills, homelessness, depression, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, aging parents and loved ones and anger management.
Kate received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received her master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College.
With more than 15 years of clinical experience, Kate uses a number of interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, strength-based techniques, and psychodynamic theories to create a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan.
At the Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling & Clinical Supervision, the staff utilizes a team approach to individual care. Patients see their own therapists, but the entire team works together to help you achieve your goals.
