"Pursuing therapy is a courageous act because it is a process where you can grow and evolve. I like to think of therapy as a collaborative process where we can work as a team to improve any problems in your life together. My background includes: working with adults, young-adults, and teens dealing with a variety of issues. I also work with individuals who present with Gastrointestinal Issues (E.g. IBS, IBD, etc.) as well as other Chronic Illnesses. My research experience and my own personal history with Chronic Illness makes me a great resource for these individuals. Problems of this sort do not only take a toll on the body, they take a toll on the mind as well. I focus on the interplay between the mind and the body to help improve the psychological stress that chronic issues may cause.
I utilize an integrative approach to help patients identify the thoughts, beliefs, relationships, or any other issues that are causing them distress. Due to the vast array of client personality, interests and needs, I recognize that there isn’t just one way to help everyone, therefore I implement aspects from different disciplines into my sessions. Because of a desire for a strong collaborative approach, I also consult with clients on a method that they may see as the best fit. My biggest aspiration is for clients to feel safe and supported in therapy as well as be challenged to forge their best self."
