Elisa Hasrouni, LMSW

Life can be overwhelming and sometimes we just want to be understood. In a city like New York, it can be easy to feel alone. We all want to feel like we are enough, accepted, and to find our sense of belonging. I am a compassionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable therapist ready to help you explore whatever seems to get in the way of living your best life possible. My experience includes working with people to explore self-doubt, fear of failure and the unknown, social rejection, anxiety, depression, relationships, dating/marital related issues, perfectionism, stress, work/life balance, trauma, and overall well-being. I enjoy getting to know each person’s story and how this has shaped your sense of self and view of the world around you. This understanding allows us to discover the patterns and/or beliefs in your life that are not serving you well. This also gives us the opportunity to recognize barriers and work to change them so you can heal and move forward. We will collaborate to unpack your story to better understand the different lenses and filters that influence your experiences in the world, while discovering how to identify your needs and how to get those needs met. Through our therapeutic relationship we will further develop your strengths, confidence, self-efficacy, self-advocacy, and communication skills to support you in your journey. This process makes it possible to change the way you currently think, respond and interact, in addition to learning how to be your authentic self while we work to accomplish your goals.

As a California native, I received my B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and my Master in Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. I specialize in working with children, families, couples, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors utilizing individual, family, groups and couples therapy. I am well versed in treating substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. I utilize multi-modal evidence-based treatment techniques including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths Based interventions as well as person-in environment, goodness of fit, and a biospsychosocial approach. I have worked with a diverse clientele and will tailor our sessions to your individual needs and goals. I believe that things can get better and you do not have to do this alone. I am here to help guide and support you while we navigate through life’s challenges and unearth your true, amazing self.
