New York is one of a kind, isn’t it? Both “the greatest city in the world” and the city of Gotham itself. Grit becomes part of our makeup as much as it becomes a part of our wardrobe and it can take a toll on us all, internally and in the way we relate to others and the world.
I believe therapy is a space for insight, healing, and growth. My goal for each session is to provide a safe, affirming, and creative space for you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your experience of the world within and around you. My work incorporates both Gestalt and Existential therapies, as well as mindfulness practices. I welcome you to come as you are and am open to whatever you may bring to session. My areas of interest include work related to gender and sexual identity, relationships, and addiction. As a drummer and music lover myself, I am especially interested in mental health and creativity, including collaborative work with artists, performers, and other creative individuals.
Before joining The Soho Center, I obtained my M.A. and Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. During my training and study, I gained clinical experience at the Dean Hope Center for Educational and Psychological Services and an outpatient addiction center, where I worked primarily with young adults and members of the LGBT+ community regarding substance use and issues related to sex, love, and recovery. Before finding myself in New York City, I obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Rhetoric & Communication Studies from the University of Richmond.
