At times, it can seem hard to talk about what is going on with your life. You may have a support system, but at times it can be hard to share your innermost thoughts and feelings with them. I know that sharing things with our close ones can be hard because they may not understand. Our friends and family can be dealing with their own things, so at times we may not want to burden them. I get it. I know that therapy can provide a safe space. Opening up to a stranger can seem like a challenge, but this can also be a benefit. In therapy we can have the space to really talk about what is going on, in a non judgmental space. Emotional baggage from past or current relationships, grudges and trauma can control us, and really impact us in the present. With self empowerment, there is increased awareness, and with this awareness an opening for growth, and change can occur. I focus mainly using a person centered and mindfulness approach. I have completed my Masters in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness, from NYU. I have a background in crisis counseling. I am also a yoga teacher, and I can also use some of my wellness techniques in our sessions. I also use an eclectic mix of CBT, and Motivational Interview tools , as we progress in our journey.
