Izzah Zainab

Izzah offers a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where you can safely develop trust and feel understood. Her approach aims to empower you with long-lasting change: she targets the immediate concerns that bring you to therapy, alongside the deep-rooted causes and contributors to your distress. She helps you connect the dots between your life experiences, beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As you identify patterns, you gain clarity, and things finally begin to make sense. From there, you will work together on new ways of relating to yourself and the world. These include tools and coping skills that you can use to navigate through stressful events, social/relational issues, and cognitive and emotional roadblocks.

Using an integrative and holistic approach, Izzah customizes her care to fit your unique needs, goals, and strengths. She incorporates techniques from various modalities, including Person-centered therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Gestalt therapy, Psychodynamic theories, and Mindfulness. She also welcomes creative modes of self-expression and healing through art, role-play, and storytelling.

Izzah is finishing her Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. She is a Fulbright Scholar and is certified by the Center for Counseling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body, U.K. She is fluent in English and Urdu, with a working knowledge of Punjabi and Hindi. Driven by multiculturalism and social justice, she respects individuals of all ages, ethnicities, races, genders, sexualities, religions, socio-economic statuses, and ability-statuses. Izzah is also a creative and artistic spirit at heart, with a passion for portrait photography, painting, and interior decorating.
